Accepted Items & Guidelines

Back on the Rack strives to provide families with a shopping and selling EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER. Our sales feature gently-loved newborn through teen, juniors and maternity clothing, baby gear, toys, furniture, home décor and more!

What are shoppers looking to buy? Check out the list of Accepted Items & Guidelines below. All items are carefully inspected before reaching the sale floor. Please help us speed up this process by adhering to the list below.

PLEASE NOTE: Items dropped-off for the sale that do not meet general guidelines, unaccepted items and improperly prepared items will be automatically donated to local charity, without additional notice to the seller. Please check your items carefully before drop-off.

General Guidelines:

  • Our shoppers are looking for brand name items in current season, style and trend.

  • All clothing must be in gently-loved condition and freshly laundered (or new!). Clothing with excessive wear, stains, fading, pilling, tears, holes, missing or mismatched buttons or snaps, broken zippers , unpleasant odors, animal hair or other debris cannot be accepted.

  • Non-clothing items must be clean and free of debris (Clorox disinfecting wipes and Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are amazing!)

  • Multi-piece toys and items must be complete

  • Items must be 100% functioning and include all necessary parts, including original straps and safety accessories. Missing a part? Contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

  • Buyers love original packaging and instruction manuals too!

  • Battery-operated items must have working batteries.

  • All items must be fully-ready for the sales floor and prepared according to Item Prep & Tagging guidelines

  • Be courteous and do not bring items that haven’t sold in the past few sales.  Beginning with Fall & Winter 2018, all items previously tagged with handwritten tags and/or Avery label barcodes must be re-tagged using the new online tagging system.  Items with these old "legacy tags" will be donated and not placed on the sales floor.  This is an excellent time to revisit pricing and appeal of items previously offered for sale.

  • Recalled items cannot be offered for sale. It is the consignor’s responsibility to check their items at www.cpsc.gov prior to drop-off.
