YOU Make Us The BEST
Back on the Rack is a mom-owned, local business, originally founded in 2008, by a group of moms. Though that group of moms has changed over the years, our values remain the same. It truly makes us happy to provide a venue, retail services and marketing expertise for thousands of families to SHOP, SELL & SAVE on items they need for themselves, their home and their kids.
Our UNIQUE FORMAT results in a shopping and selling EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER. We strive to make the entire consignment process simple, efficient and profitable for everyone.
All that is what makes us unique. What makes us the BEST is YOU. Back on the Rack values our sellers, shoppers and partners. We believe the quality of our sales depends greatly upon those who choose to participate. We love that you're as passionate about Back on the Rack as we are. Rest assured, your enthusiasm and attention to detail does not go unnoticed. We consider you our friends and hope the feeling is mutual.
And, what AMAZING friends to have! You have consistently VOTED BACK ON THE RACK "BEST KIDS' CLOTHING STORE" and "BEST RESALE STORE" PLATINUM, gold or silver winner for the past seven years, in The Roanoker magazine's 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 & 2017 "Best Of" issues. Pleased to Meet You Friend
Ginny discovered Back on the Rack in 2010, as a new mom with a dining room full of gently-loved items to sell. Just one sale and she was hooked! After six years as a Seller and Crew member, she was blessed with the opportunity to become a partner in the business, and eventually owner, following the 2018 Spring & Summer Sale.
She's had a passion for retail since grade school, starting with neighborhood lemonade stands and Girl Scout Cookies (mmmm... Thin Mints). She eventually progressed to a premier garden center, oceanfront gift shops and department stores.
Ginny has a background in event planning, business development, sales and marketing, through the wireless, higher education, non-profit and hospitality industries. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Longwood University and Meeting and Event Planning Certificate from Virginia Tech. Along the way, she's developed somewhat of an unnatural obsession with spreadsheets. Admitting it is the first step to recovery, right?
During summer, Ginny dabbles in gardening, canning and pickling. She’s even gathered some ribbons from the Salem Fair and West Virginia State Fair, including a Best in Show for her pickled red onions!
Although, she firmly believes you shouldn't run unless someone is chasing you, Ginny has been know to challenge herself by walking half marathons. Her first appearance was at the Missoula Half Marathon, in her home state of Montana (it's alright y'all, she drinks sweet tea). Her family now frequents the Flying Pirate Half Marathon in the Outer Banks. Arrr, matey!
Ginny is a homeschool mom and resides in Daleville, VA, with her truly irreplaceable and patient husband and two (stop growing so fast!) grade-schoolers. She thinks pink flamingo yard ornaments just might be the perfect pet.
She is excited to get to know her Back on the Rack friends even better over the coming years and hopes to learn more about each of you too!
